Choosing to stay in Palm Beach at the Southern end of the Gold Coast is a clever thought for a whole variety of reasons. Besides a shorter trip from the airport, this end of the coast has so many incredible attractions for you to enjoy, it’s no wonder you chose this beautiful spot as your home base for your holiday! Here are some of the best local swimming spot for you to visit on your stay.

Palm Beach

Within minutes of our Palm Beach location you’ll find the most incredible swimming spots around. Voted the cleanest beach in Queensland three times, Palm Beach offers up sweeping coastal views, pristine white sand, and rolling turquoise waves. You can surf, swim, splash, or just soak up the sun. A quieter beach than the more well renowned Surfers Paradise beach, you won’t be fighting for a spot on the sand here. If tranquility and relaxation in a breathtaking location is right up your alley, this is the spot for you.

Tallebudgera Creek

Just a little way north you’ll find Tallebudgera Creek - voted Australia’s best swimming spot. With calm crystal-clear water, it’s a family favourite amongst locals and visitors alike. Patrolled by lifeguards, it’s an incredible spot to eat ice cream and people watch while you dip your toes. Kids can drift on their boogie boards, or try snorkelling! A favourite spot for anyone willing to try a stand up paddle board, kayak, swim, or soak, Tallebudgera Creek doesn’t disappoint. Make sure you do the walk around the Burleigh Headland through the National Park, with top whale watching lookouts along the way, Echo Beach, and ending up on Burleigh Hill to watch the Surfers is a must for any Gold Coast visit. The walk itself is only short, so it’s a piece of cake for families, but well worth the effort.

Currumbin Rock Pools

The Currumbin rock pools are another iconic Gold Coast location. Make your way up the winding roads of Currumbin Valley until you find this not so secret spot where nature abounds. Nestled amongst the trees are the freshwater rock pools - with shallow pools for younger kids, and jumping off the rock wall for the more adventurous among us. Enjoy a picnic in the shade and the fresh mountain air. The rockpools have been a favourite for decades, and for good reason!

Snapper Rocks

Snapper Rocks is another breathtaking spot for you to enjoy. Enjoyed by some of the best surfers in the world, this spot is ideal for anyone wanting to get in the water for a paddle. Take a dip in the mermaid pools, catch the sights from the cliffs, and then head to Coolangatta for trendy restaurants, cafes, and boutique shopping. The perfect place to snap a breathtaking picture or two, take a relaxing stroll along the coastline, or enjoy a spectacular sunrise.
